Preparation of Nanometer NdFeO3 by Glycine Combustion Method and Its Catalytic Activity on Thermal Decomposition of Ammonium Perchlorate

The nanometer NdFeO3 was prepared by glycine combustion method and its catalytic characteristics for thermal decomposition of ammonium perchlorate was investigated. The obtained products were characterized by X-ray Diffraction and High Reaction Transmission Electron Microscope. Powder diffraction patterns were analyzed by the Rietveld method with the program package FullProf. The catalytic activity of nanometer NdFeO3 on ammonium perchlorate thermal decomposition was investigated by Thermogravimetry-Differential Thermal Analyzer. The nanometer NdFeO3 presents an attractive option for its high catalytic activity on the thermal decomposition of AP. Adding 2% NdFeO3 into ammonium perchlorate, the peak temperature of high temperature decomposition decreases by 125 ℃. The probable catalytic mechanism was proposed.
