Novel Synthetic Approaches of 1, 4, 5, 8-Tetranitro-1, 4, 5, 8-Tetraazadecalin(TNAD)

Taking hydration glyoxal, ethylenediamine as primary material, Tetraazadecalin (TAD) was synthesized by aldehyde amine Cyclization, and Tetraazadecalin hydrochloride was obtained by acidification of TAD. Nitration of Tetraazadecalin Hydrochloride (CTAD) with a nitrating mixture of nitric acid and acetic anhydride gave 1, 4, 5, 8-Tetranitro-1, 4, 5, 8-tetraazadecalin (TNAD). The overall yield of TNAD is more than 43%. The purity of TNAD is no less than 98%. The structure of TNAD was characterized by IR, NMR and elemental analysis. Also, the basic properties were tested in this work.
