Influence of Different Initiation Way on Peak Attenuation of Shock of Cylindrical Charge at Underwater Ezplosive Close-Field

With high-speed photograph, the shock propagation induced by under-water explosion with cylindrical charge of typical aluminum explosive GUHL-1 in different initiating ways was studied. Curves of shock peak pressure variable with propagation distance were obtained. The experiment result showed that the initiating way has great effect on initial shock pressure and the attenuation of shock in close-filed. In order to make the heaviest damage, it’s better to adapt a more suitable way of initiating according to the distance between the shock as a warhead and the object.
