Application of the Guided-wave Method in Testing for a Twisted Nematic Liquid Crystal Cell
Based on the beam expander lens system, the fully-leaky guided mode characterization of liquid crystal (LC) layer has been studied by means of the prism-coupling technique. The guided wave pictures of a twisted nematic LC cell with cell gap 6μm, in which the LC E7 is filled, have been given through experiment. By comparing the guided wave pictures with the theoretical simulation results, the important conclusion that the deformation of director in LC cell can be mapped by guided modes.
