Dynamic Shape Control of Thin-walled Structures
This paper is concerned with dynamic shape control of thin-walled structures; in particular with shallow shells modeled within the nonlinear theory of v.Karman and Tsien. We ask for a distribution of actuation stresses such that the resulting displacement of the shallow shell follows a desired trajectory in every point and at every time instant.A solution for the distributed actuation stresses is calculated, such that the goal of dynamic shape control is reached exactly. As an example problem,we study thin-walled shallow panels. We seek for actuation stresses, which can change the surface profile of the panel in a desired manner. This problem is solved for shallow panels under dynamic loading by using arbitrarily distributed actuation stresses.
