Properties and morphology of recyled poly(ethylene terephthalate)/biphenol-A polycarbonate blends

poly(ethylene terephthalate)(PET) is an important engineering polymer widely used in auto mobile and electronic elements. However, recyled PET(rPET) is unsuitable for a direct application due to the degradation in the recyling process.Blending rPET and biphenol-A polycarbonate(PC) was proved an effective way to improve properties and extensively investigated. In this study, rPET/PC blends were prepared by low temperature solid-state extrusion method in the presence of metallocene catalysed ethylene-octene copolymer(POE) or its GMA-grafted counterpart(mPOE).The present work aims to the mechnical properties and phase morphology of the rPET/PC/POE ternary blends.
