Integrated Technical System of Dryland Farming with Harvest Rainwater Irrigation in Semi-arid Areas
Drought and water shortage are the biggest bottleneck limiting environmental construction and economical development in the north Loess Plateau where supplemental irrigation of harvest rainwater is popularizing. But there is short of integrated technical studies. As a result, there is blind and unreasonable distribution of engineering. In this paper,a dryland farming model of integrated technical system with supplemental irrigation of harvest rainwater was built based on techniques of RS,GIS and GPS,theory of system engineering, practical techniques of agronomy and water conservation in order to increase harvest and storage rate of rainwater, water use ratio (RUE) and water use efficiency (WUE).Considered the situation of the demonstration area, the potential of harvest rain water was analyzed and three sub models at the household level were also built.
