IM Group Worm Modeling and Defense
The Instant Messaging (IM) has been proved as a scale-free network, but the group feature which added into IM system recently was not considered in the previous work. Motivated by this, we study the IM group topology for the first time, where two IM users are considered connected if they are in the one group. With real data, we propose some new approaches of worm propagation under IM group topology and also prove their efficiency. To prevent worms and evaluate the effect of various defense approaches, we distinguish vaccination and immunization, novelty define the satisfied rate for IM service, and discuss some parameters which might impact IM worm propagation. Primary results are very interesting and direct the worm defense approach.
