The Property of Oxide Film of Nanostructure Zircaloy-4 under the 673k/10.3MPa Condition
The corrosion properties of surface nanocrystallined (SNC) Zircaloy-4 were studied at various corrosion periods under the condition of 673K/10.3MPa in pure water. Experimental evidences indicated that many equiaxed grains were discovered in the oxide films formed on the nanostructure basis. Simultaneously, the metal/oxide (M/O) interface of nanostructure (NS) Zircaloy-4was more regular and glossy than that of coarse-grain structure (CGS) Zircaloy-4. Furthermore; the absence of Oxygen-rich area at the M/O interface of nanostructure (NS) Zircaloy-4 implied the corrosion process is lagged of the traditional zircaloy-4, which indicated that NS Zircaloy-4 had a better corrosion resistance.
