Preparation and Characterization of TiO2/ZSM-5 Nano-composite Photocatalyst
TiO2/NaZSM-5 nano-composite photocatalyst was prepared with nano-NaZSM-5 zeolite matrix by controlled impregnation. Results showed that the TiO2/NaZSM-5 nano-composite had much higher photoactivity than reference nano-TiO2 and the mechanical mixture of the reference TiO2 with the nano-NaZSM-5 matrix in the degradation of methyl orange. By using various characterization techniques including XRD, XRF, HRTEM, N2 physisorption and DRUV-vis, it was concluded that the outstanding photoactivity of the TiO2/NaZSM-5 nano-composite should be attributed to the unique adsorption property of the nano-NaZSM-5 matrix and the enhanced absorbance of the supported TiO2 in ultraviolet region.
