Fault Tolerant Schemes in the Control of Electrical Drives
Modern drives are today key components in many processes and systems that demand a high avail-ability. The conventional solution for a high availability in sensible equipment considers the installation of redundant components. Drives are complex systems with sensors and computing power on board and are able to fulfill these requirements by using appropriate fault tolerant control schemes and avoiding in this way the costly redundancy. The paper presents two different schemes that allow a continuous operation even in case of failures of inverter or machine.
