COMPOSITE ELECTROLYTES WITH NANO-CHANNELS FOR QUASI-SOLID DYE-SENSITIZED SOLAR CELLS
Composite quasi-solid electrolytes were prepared for dye-sensitized solar cells (DSSC). The electrolytes were composed of iodide/triiodide redox couple, 4-tert butylpyridine (TBP), ionic liquids (1-methyl-3-propylimi- dazolium dihydrophosphate (MPIDP) or 1-methyl-3-propyl -imidazolium iodide (MPII)), and layered α-zirconium phosphate (α-ZrP). Nano-channels of layered α-ZrP were concluded to have accelerated the diffusion of triiodide ions. The highest light-to-energy conversion efficiency of 4.0 % was obtained.
