Preparation and Characterization of Polyester Microfiber
Polyethylene terephthalate microfiber was prepared by using electro-spinning technique. The characterization of PET fiber were made by scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and X-ray diffraction (XRD).The effects of PET mass fraction, spinning voltage, receiving distance and spinning solution concentration on the fiber properties have been investigated. Based on experimental datas, the result shows that smooth and flat PET fiber can be obtained as the process conditions were as follows: spinning voltage 20kv, receiving distance 15cm, 10%~16% PET mass fraction in spinning solution. The electro-spinning process was steady at the spinning voltage of 16~22kv. The receiving distance had no obvious effect on the diameter and morphology of the fiber. The crystallinity of the PET fiber was low.
