A Stage Structured Predator-Prey System with Delay and Mortality Rate
We present a rather general stage structured predator-prey model with maturation delay and mortality rate and perform a systematic mathematical study. We give conditions which are both necessary and sufficient for the global asymptotical stability of the boundary equilibrium. Our work also shows that under condition which the positive equilibrium exists, the system is uniformly persistent, and the positive steady state is globally asymptotically stable when it is local asymptotically stable. At last, we compare and contrast the dynamics in the two cases which correspond respectively to the present or absence of mortality among the juveniles. It shows that delay systems in which the coefficients are dependent of time delay are more suitable than that with delay-independent parameters.
