Fabrication of Be-CuCrZr/SS Joints by Hot Isostatic Pressing Diffusion Bonding
Be-CuCrZr bimetal joint was fabricated by hot isostatic pressing(HIP)diffusion bonding.In order to improve the property of joint,four different kinds of film project(the number is: 1#2#3#4#)were carried out by Physical Vapor Deposition(PVD).The experiment of HIP was implemented in temperature 580℃,Pressure 140 MPa and soaking 2 hours.Good metallurgical combination was only observed in 4# project by Scanning Electron Microscope(SEM).Shear test showed that the shear strength of 4# project was 134MPa,higher than other projects and numerical value of reference documentation.Meanwhile,CuCrZr-SS(316L)joint was acquired by HIP diffusion bonding.Three different kinds of film project(the number is: 1#2#3#)were executed by PVD.The technology of HIP is: 980℃ × 140 MPa × 2 h,with furnace cooling,solid solution and aging were implemented after HIP,the temperature of former is 980℃,holding time is 1h,water quenching.The latter of temperature is 480℃,soaking time is 2 h,with air cooling.The results of 1#/2#/3# tension test as followed: 319MPa,324MPa,335MPa respectively; Impact toughness of 1#/2#/3# as followed: 112J/cm2,85J/cm2,36J/cm2.According to the experiment results,Be/CuCrZr/SS compound joint was acquired by HIP,SEM observation showed that good metallurgical combination was achieved.
