Preparation and Structural Characteristics of Porous Monel by Sintering-Dissolution Process
In order to prepare Monel alloy porous filtration material,Monel powder as raw material,K2CO3 as space holder,the porous Monel samples with different porosity were fabricated by a sintering-dissolution process.The influence of space holder,compacting pressure and sintering temperature on the porosity,cell size and permeability of samples,and the relations of porosity and mechanical properties were investigated and discussed.The experimental results show that the porosity of samples is 31%~46%,while the volume fraction of space holder at 20vol.%~40vol.%.While compacting pressure at 100~400MPa,the porosity,cell size and permeability of samples decrease with compacting pressure increasing; while sintering temperature at 850~1000℃,the cell size and permeability increase first,then slowly decrease with the sintering temperature increasing,the peak value at 950℃.While the volume fraction of space holder is 30%,compacting pressure 200MPa,sintering temperature 950℃,the porous Monel sample was fabricated with porosity 37%,maximum cell size 5.6μm,permeability 76.77m3/(h·kPa·m2).The tensile strength is about 37.5~25.6MPa,while the porosity of samples is between 37%and 46%.
