Study on Microstructure and Properties of Laser Remelting Fe3Al/Cr3C2 Composites

  The effects of Cr3C2 content on the microstructure,hardness and wear resistance of Fe3Al/Cr3C2 composites were investigated.The results showed that,the carbides in the hot isostatic pressing Fe3Al/Cr3C2 composites are lumpy or irregular shape,and the in situ formed carbide in the laser remelting Fe3Al/Cr3C2 composites is fine and dispersed.With the increase of Cr3C2 content,the microhardness of Fe3Al/Cr3C2 composites with hot isostatic pressing and laser remelting gradually increased,and the wear resistance of hot isostatic pressing Fe3Al/Cr3C2 composites increased gradually,while the wear resistance of laser remelting Fe3Al/Cr3C2 composites show first increase and then decrease trend,and the best wear resistance is obtained when the volume fraction of Cr3C2 is 18%; The wear loss of pin and disc of laser remelting Fe3Al/Cr3C2 composite with the same Cr3C2 content is smaller than that of hot isostatic pressing Fe3Al/Cr3C2 composite,compared with Fe3Al/Cr3C2 composites prepared by hot isostatic pressing,the wear resistance of laser remelting Fe3Al/Cr3C2 composites is significantly improved,and the wear rate of the grinding material is greatly reduced,this is mainly related to the fine dispersed Cr3C2 phase,which can play a role in isolating friction pairs and blocking abrasive cutting.
