Study on Bump Losing Protection of Nd-Fe-B Magnetic in Transportation and Storage
Nd-Fe-B magnet is widely used in the electric vehicles,wind power turbines,medical equipment,intelligent robot,etc.,but a performance requirement of the market for the magnet is getting higher.As Nd-Fe-B magnet is a brittle material with low impact strength,edge breakage easily happens during the transportation and warehousing stage.How to effectively prevent edge breakage will be of great significance to the cost of products.This paper investigated the percentage of bump induced edge breakage amount,and the problems of conventional protection methods were also discussed.A comparison was carried out among three methods: foam,partition and turnover box.The analysis of the protective effect and the cost of tooling has shown that the method of using the flexible partition bar in the turnover box has obtained better results.Based on this,a complete set of turnover storage procedures and tooling is designed.The new method will reduce the rejection rate from 2%to 0.1%,and the cost can be reduced by 1%annually.
