Thermal Fatigue Performance of AISI H13 Tool Steel Processed by Selective Laser Melting
The toughness properties of the H13 hot-work tool steel processed by selective laser melting(SLM)that with and without post-treatment were studied,as well as the conventional forged H13.The mechanism of thermal fatigue resistance properties was discussed based on the XRD tests,SEM observations, thermal fatigue tests, and hardness measurements. Results show that the SLMed H13 parts had fcc and bcc phases. While as the treated SLMed(T-SLMed)H13 parts and the forged H13 parts only had bcc phase. The SLM processed H13 parts and the T-SLMed H13 parts exhibited better thermal fatigue resistance properties than the wrought parts.Besides, the hardness increase largely in SLMed parts after the thermal fatigue tests,a few increase in T-SLMed parts, while a slight decrease in Forged parts.
