Additive Manufacturing(AM),known as Rapid Prototyping(RP),has been researched and developed for morethan 20 years.Rather than removing materials,AM processes make three-dimensional parts directly from CADmodels by adding materials layer by layer.According to A.T.Kearney report on 3 D printing,the global 3Dindustry market for hardware,supplies,& services will be～17 billion dollars.The 3D printing will have profoundimpact on next generation manufacturing.There are various AM technologies such as material jetting,binderjetting,material extrusion,photo-polymerization,powder bed fusion,directed energy deposition,sheet lamination,and others.
