Research on the Effect of RF Plasma Spheroidized Powders on SLM
In recent years, selective laser melting(SLM)technology has been rapidly developed due to its advantage of directly manufacturing complex shape parts that do not require a mold, and has attracted great attention from both domestic and foreign manufacturers.Raw materials and process parameters are the key factors for obtaining high quality molded parts. Therefore, this article studies the influence of raw materials on SLM processed parts.Spherical cobalt-chromium alloy powders processed by Radio frequency plasma with optimized parameters were used in this experiment.Through SLM experiment,it was found that the samples prepared from the spheroidized alloy powder had less porosity than the original powder(gas atomization),and the absolute density was bigger than that of the original powder. The tensile properties of specimen prepared from the spheronized powder were superior to those of the specimen prepared from the original powder. At the same time,it was found that the microstructure of SLM samples was mainly composed of a honeycomb structure and long columnar structure. It was considered that there was a certain genetic relationship with the internal structure of the powder.
