High-Voltage Li-ion Batteries and Materials
In this study,we will present our recent research progress on the 4V lithium-manganese-iron phosphate(LMFP)and 4.7V lithium-nickel-manganese oxide(LiNi0.5Mn1.5O4,LNMO)as the cathode for Li-ion batteries. The LMFP and LNMO cells with the Li4Ti5O12(LTO)anode were also made and evaluated. The energy densities of LMFP-LTO cells reached 74 Wh/kg and can be further increased to 82 Wh/kg by blending LMFP with Ni-rich NMC.As a comparison, the energy density of LNMO-LTO cells was 110 Wh/kg.It is necessary to note that the LNMO cells suffered from the problem of gas evolutions. To solve gassing, the LAGP ceramic electrolyte was used. The solid-state LNMO-LTO cell exhibited promising electrochemical properties at 60℃.
