Development of Heat-resistant Sintered Alloy Having High Wear Resistance and Salt Damage Resistance
Sintered alloy has higher flexibility in selecting the type and amount of hard particles than smelted alloy, and it have been applied to parts requiring wear resistance and heat resistance. But it has a porous structure, therefore,it is inferior in salt damage resistance to smelted alloy. In this study, the effects of composition and porosity of matrix phase of sintered alloy, and composition of hard phase on salt damage resistance, wear resistance, and oxidation resistance were investigated. As a result, the sintered alloy having 32mass%Cr content,2mass%Mo content in matrix component and 1%or less open porosity has the same salt damage resistance as high Cr cast steel. The material added CrB is equivalent in terms of heat resistance and salt damage resistance compared with high Cr cast steel, and is superior in wear resistance.
