Fabrication and Properties of Iron-based Soft Magnetic Composites Coated with Polyimide
The organic coating materials used in soft magnetic composite materials are phenolic resins and silicone resins. But the heat-resistance temperature of phenolic resins and silicone resins does not exceed 300℃,Compared with phenolic resin and silicone polymer, polyimide(PI)has good high temperature resistance and high heat treatment temperature, which can eliminate internal stress in the higher temperature and effectively solve the problem that soft magnetic organic coating materias can not bear high temperature. Therefore,PI is chosen as the organic insulating coating material in this study. The iron powder is stirred in the PI solution and the organic solvent in the solution is evaporated. After that, the magnetic properties are measured. It can be seen from the TG analysis that the polyamic acid(PAA)will undergo thermal imidization at about 200℃,and the heat-resistant temperature of PI is up to 480℃.The infrared spectra show that the surface of iron powder contains PI.The magnetic losses increase as the frequency increases. For a magnetic ring with PI content of 0.5%,1%,and 1.5%respectively,the iron loss gradually decreases and the maximum magnetic permeability increases,so the magnetic properties of the material are improved.
