Integrated Product and Process Development of Powder Metallurgy Hub for Automotive Clutch
With the development of the new near-net shape forming process,powder metallurgy has been widely used in the manufacturing of automobiles and parts.This paper proposes a novel IPPD(integrated product and process development)methodology for powder metallurgy clutch hubs.It developed a design for manufacturing,used 3D modeling,and used ANSYS software to perform simulation analysis of the disk hub.A powder metallurgy clutch hub material for Fe-C-Cu-Ni-Mo system was developed and a corresponding process scheme was developed.Through material metallographic analysis and experimental verification,the results showed that the powder metallurgy clutch hub developed by IPPD technology can meet the requirements of automotive manufacturers in terms of strength and durability.And the IPPD methodolgy and new near-net shape forming technology can be widely applied to the parts such as-gear flanges.
