Powder Injection Molding Process of Ti-6Al-4V Alloy
This paper describes the injection molding process of Ti-6Al-4V(TC4)powder prepared by plasma atomization technology,including mixing,injection,degreasing and sintering.Raw materials and sintered billets were characterized by scanning electron microscope,thermogravimetric analyzer,metallographic microscope and universal stretching machine.Results show that by using the POM binder system with a loading of 56vol%,the Metal Flow Index(MFI)of feedstockcan reach700-1000 g/10min.Using an injection process with an injection temperature of 190±5℃,a mold temperature of 125±10 ℃ and an injection pressure of 170±10 MPa,uniformly dense greenparts were prepared.Sintered under vacuum conditions at 1300 ℃ for 3 h,the yield strength of the sintered billet can reach 910 MPa,the tensile strength can reach 980 MPa,and the elongation can reach 7.8%.
