Effects of Cyclic Solid Solution on Microstructures of Post-HIP Ti-45Al-8.5Nb-(W,B,Y)Compacts
In order to gain fine-grained lamellar microstructures,cyclic solid solution treatments at 1628K with air cooling were performed to post-HIP powder metallurgy Ti-45Al-8.5Nb-(W,B,Y)compacts,and effects of cyclic times on lamellar grain size and quantity of residual γ grains were investigated.The results reveal that with increasing of cyclic times,quantity of residual γ grains was gradually reduced with a few growth of lamellar grain size.If cyclic times are larger than 6,quantity of residual γ grains will be lower than 4%and full lamellar grain size reach about 18μm.Therefore,Ti-45Al-8.5Nb-(W,B,Y)alloy with fine near full lamellar microstructures has been gained.
