Control surface characteristics of the small-scale supersonic flight experiment vehicle (OWASHI) of Muroran-IT
Muroran Institute of Technology,Japan is developing a Small-scale supersonic flight experiment vehicle(OWASHI).In this study,aerodynamic configuration design and characterization by wind tunnel tests of OWASHI are carried out.Aerodynamic performance and stability by control surfaces deflections are discussed.The results indicate good performance of control surfaces.On the other hand,OWASHI will be in danger of falling into roll reversal at large angle of attack.We evaluated and confirmed aerodynamic derivatives for evaluation of Lateral Control Departure Parameter of OWASHI and control surfaces capability of preventing roll reversal.
