A Large Eddy Simulation Study of Flow and Mixing Characteristics in Supersonic Combustor
In this study,wedge type fuel injectors are considered for analysis with a supersonic combustor.This air-fuel mixing phenomenon influences combustion characteristics,and affects the performance of a scramjet engine.A Large-Eddy simulation accompanied with the dynamic Smagorinsky model is used to predict the outcome of a complicated small scale Eddy motion accurately.Pressure distribution at the wall affected by shockwaves and expansion waves are compared with experimental results.Also,the flow structure including shockwaves and behavior of vortexes are well observed.An investigation with the LES shows detail macroscopic and microscopic motion in the supersonic combustor.
