A Probe into FarmersEntrepreneurship and Rural Economic Growth in China:Based on the Theory of Division of Labor

If an entrepreneur is a creative person, or someone who takes risks and innovates, then small-scale farmers are definitely entrepreneurs.Using regression analysis method, this article, based on the theory of division of labor, attempts to study the role of farmers entrepreneurship in promoting rural economic development, in accordance with the statistics during the period 1995-2011.The studies show that farmers entrepreneurship can effectively contribute to the evolution of division of labor in rural areas, and rural transaction efficiency, despite its weak effect, also promotes the division of labor in rural areas.Conspicuously, entrepreneurship makes a great contribution to income growth for farmers and improvement of agricultural productivity; the transaction efficiency is not as good as the division of labor which really helps to regulate the role of farmers entrepreneurship in increasing farmers income and enhancing agricultural productivity.Based on the conclusions, this article proposes improving the rural transaction efficiency and encouraging farmers entrepreneurship, from basic education, infrastructure and market order.
