Koreas Construction Business Informatization Overview and Future Plans
Abstract-South Koreas construction industry won ordersworth USD 58 billion in 2011,and as such,it has achieved aremarkable growth.However,despite such an impressivequantitative growth,value-added quality growth has beenvery slow.Thus,the Ministry of Land,Transport and MarineAffairs (MLTM) is pushing ahead with the constructioninformatization initiative (Construction ContinuousAcquisition & Life-cycle Support-CALS) in order tosystematically manage a wide range of constructioninformation by stage and to enhance the efficiency ofconstruction costs.This study aims to review the countrysconstruction CALS to explore a construction developmentdirection.
