Government Regulations and NPOs Participation in Emergency Management—Taking American Public Policy for Example

Instead of laissez-faire policy, the American government regulations on the participation of Nonprofit Organizations (NPOs) in disaster relief are very common in both federal and state government. On ways of participation, the governmental policies focus on the specific fields, such as admittance threshold and qualifications and credit, meanwhile effective regulations have been made on issues related to coop t level. In aspect of functional orientation, it is regulated that NPOs play a role of filling in a vacancy, which means that they can provide professional services in some fields that it is difficult for government to set foot in, such as personalized service, community relief for the victims and reconstruction and so on.eration, religion and promotion during the disaster relief.
