Integrating New Technologies: The Status of Hybrid, Online and Face-to-face Public Administration Courses
The paper compares several of the major models of public administration course delivery and then discusses the change in the numbers of American online and hybrid programs between 2009 and 2012 (an increase in online B.A. programs from 10 to 18, an increase in online M.P.A. programs from 38 to 58, and an increase in online doctoral programs from 2 to 4). This increase is part of a broader trend of rationalization and standardization of American higher education, resulting from reduced funding to universities and colleges, and increased capabilities of course management systems.
