Evaluation of Governmental Micro Blogs Influence on Chinese College Students Online Public Opinions: Based on Agenda Setting Theory
The agenda setting function of governmental micro blogs is embodied in its ability to aggregate information and guide public opinions. As the mainstream of the micro blogs users, college students role and function becomes clear gradually, especially in the online opinion events. Based on the agenda setting theory and the classification of feedback theory from the Gambles, this paper analyzes the current level and problems of agenda setting of governmental micro blogs and the influential impacts they have on the college students. The paper analyzes governmental micro blogs ability to aggregate information through data collection and comparative study. It also makes quantitative assessment of governmental micro blogs ability to guide public opinions via content analysis. On the basis of such analyses, this paper also puts forward suggestions as to the ways governmental micro blogs can take to deal with online public opinions and college netizens, pointing out remedy for governments behaviors as well as the development direction of governmental micro blogs.
