Social Evaluation and Suggestions about Creating the Civilized City-Based on the Investigation of 761 Yangzhou Citizens

摘要：

The activity to construct civilized cities is an innovation of city construction and management led by governments from the top down in China. In practice, many local governments regard this activity as the important measure and way to promote the citys brand and competitiveness, which is obviously different from the original target of the masses satisfaction. Through the social survey to the Yangzhou citizens about building civilization city, it is proved that constructing civilized cities is conductive to the improvement of city civilization degree and the citizens quality. But the follow issues are also found: the lower cognitive level, the lower degree of participation, the gap between the degree of city improvement and the public expectation etc.
