A Study on Industry Development Strategy in China State-owned Forest Region Based on SWOT Analysis

Reasonable balance of industry structure in stateowned forest region is a necessary prerequisite to socio-economic development in forest areas. However, during last five years, state-owned forest industry still has low profit, irrational industrial structure and other issues as well, and these caused many negative effects on healthy social economy in forest areas. By using modern enterprise strategic tool SWOT analysis, this paper has an in-depth analysis of the development of state-owned forest industry internal conditions (strengths and weaknesses) and external environment (opportunities and threats) factors, and builds a SWOT analysis matrix model for state-owned forest region industrial development. It shows that state-owned forest region has a strong resources advantage in the development of non-wood industries, especially eco-tourism, biomass energy, forest carbon sinks and so on; through the introduction of talent, technology, capital and other factors of production, the forestry industry to transfer to new labor-intensive and capital-intensive industries, it can lead the state-owned forest region to a sustainable development.
