Strengthening Government Administration to Promote the Development of Marine Economy in China—A Case Study of the Blue Economic Zone of Shandong Peninsula

Marine economy is also known as the blue economy Protecting and exploiting marine resources and developing marine economy is an important choice for achieving sustainable development in the 21st century. More requirements for resources in the progress of further development of Chinas economy, together with larger constraints of land resources, deeper dependence of free trade on oceans and stricter management and control to ocean territory, require us to take the exploitation of marine resources and development of marine economy as a significant strategic direction. Taking the blue economic zone of Shandong peninsula for an example, this paper analyses some new problems and new contradictions emerging from administrative management of marine economy, and then puts forward some correlative countermeasures, by which it is hoped to enlighten others to innovate theories and enrich practice of marine management.
