Preparation and Electrochemical Study in Sodium Chloride Solution of Electro-Brush Ni-Co-P Amorphous Plating

Ni-Co-P alloy coatings were prepared by electro-brush plating technology in order to remanufacture damaged hard chromium plating parts. Surface morphology, element composition and phase structure were separately investigated by Scanning Electron Microscopy, Energy Dispersive X-ray Spectrometer and X-ray Diffraction, and the corrosion resistance of Ni-Co-P alloy plating was studied in 5% NaCl solution using electrochemical methods. The results show that Ni-Co-P alloy coating with content on 9.9 wt% P has amorphous phase structure, and the amorphous degree of the coating reach 67%. Whats more, corrosion resistance of the Ni-Co-P amorphous plating is superior to hard chrome plating. Therefore, electro-brush Ni-Co-P alloy plating may remanufacture for hard chrome plating damaged equipment.
