Phase composition and creep resistant properties of the 9% heat resistant steels
This paper shows estimation criteria of phase and structural conditions of steel which help to achieve the maximum creep resistance while preserving the toughness and plasticity of material. On the basis of thermodynamic calculations for 9Cr-Mo-VNb steel extra alloyed by W, Co, N and B the optimum limits of alloying for the basic alloying elements are defined, ensuring the formation in steel the most favorable from the point of view of increasing the creep resistance of the phase composition. For manufacturing were adopted parameters for heat-treatment of finish product and heating before forging, piercing and rolling. It was shown considerable effect of the complex alloying by tungsten, molybdenum and cobalt on the service properties and the creep resistance. As result the family of heat resistant steels for boiler equipment and steam-piping system with ultra-supercritical steam parameters was developed. New materials were adopted in metallurgical and machine-building manufacture during the production of the main elements of TPP equipment.
