A Context-Aware Recommendation of Technical Forum Threads Based on Probabilistic Databases Theory-A framework designed for online forums concerning programming support-
This paper aims to propose a framework that exploits the IT context of a post in a technical-oriented forum concerning programming support in order to make better recommendations for users searching for an answer. One of the contributions that this research aims to bring is an algorithm of estimating the IT context of a post, through Propagation of Computing Context in the forum thread tree. Then, having the forum messages enriched with metadata regarding their IT context (SDK. Server, DBMS, Operating System, IDE), the paper uses the probabilistic databases theory to make recommendations of relevant threads to a new query.
