Broadband Multilayer Cascaded Block Microwave Bandpass Filters
A new class of compact block multilayer microwave bandpass filters is proposed. The filters use multilayer ring resonators (MRR) technique by cascading them to produce new types of high order and high frequency selectivity filters having arbitrary both narrow band and ultra-wideband (UWB) characteristics. The physical size of the filters is very small; typically a 9-order block filter has a dimension of 3× 7× 1.5 mm3. Several configurations are introduced and a designed prototype was implemented. Both simulation and measurement results are presented.
