Catalytic supercritical water oxidation wastewater from fabric dyeing plant using CuSO4/FeSO4 as catalyst
Oxidation of fabric dyeing wastewater was investigated in supercritical water with CuSO4/FeSO4 as catalyst. The effects of various operating parameters like temperature, pressure, hydrogen peroxide concentration and catalyst concentration on the removal of color and COD from wastewater were investigated. The percent removals of color and COD at 450℃, 28MPa using 120% hydrogen peroxide dosage and 2.0mg/L catalyst was 100% and 99%, respectively. Experimental results indicated that CuSO4 and FeSO4 had a significant effect on the COD and color removal. CuSO4 had greater effect on COD and color removal than FeSO4. The effect on catalyst on color removal has been found to be less in comparison to COD removal.
