Frequent natural disasters brought great losses to Chinas agricultural production, seriously affecting the stability of development agricultural as well as the steady improvement of farmers living, therefore, disaster relief and insurance compensation become more and more important. The evaluation and measurement of Post-disaster damage are important and significant basis for the insurance company and government to carry out disaster relief, compensation and restoration, which have theoretical and practical on the basis of an overview of the necessity, this article of the agricultural catastrophe losses assess, put forward the steps and index system of agricultural catastrophe losses assess, and according to feature of the agricultural production such as rhythm and periodicity, give several measurement of agricultural catastrophe losses.
