IN SITU WATER GELATION BY A HYDROGELATOR DERIVED FROM N-(4-CARBOXY PHENYL)TRIMELLITIMIDE
Unusual water gelation behavior of a rigid hydrogelator, derived from N-(4-carboxyphenyl)trimellitimide is described. This hydrogelator possesses in situ water gelation and thermoirreversible properties. Our discovery of the hydrogelator may stimulate new molecular engineering endeavors in the design of organic and polymeric gelators.
