Analysis of the Influencing Factors on Southwest Drought in China Based on Partial Least-squares Regression Method
The middle and the northern parts of Yunnan province, most of Guizhou province and the north of Sichuan province have seen a severely drought since the autumn of 2009. According to the five indicators involving artificial forestation areas, regional GDP, population density, per capita arable land and land area, 13 major cities such as Kunming are selected for samples to do statistic analysis on precipitation anomaly and mean temperature anomaly based on the method of partial least-squares regression in this paper. The result shows that land area, population density are the most important factors in the southwest drought. In addition, regional GDP and artificial forestation can not be ignored as more important factors. And accordingly make recommendations.
