Research on Apparel OEM Risks Based on a Multi-level Fuzzy Comprehensive Evaluation
Chinese apparel enterprises engaged in Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) for a long time may result in potential risks as weakening its comparative advantage, squeezing out its profit margins and less technological innovation. OEM risks are divided into four dimensions such as economic, market, legal and social risk from the perspective of value chain in OEM apparel industry. Then this study develops the risk factor assessment model using the method of analytic hierarchy process and fuzz comprehensive evaluation. This model takes typical apparel company S as a case to analyze its risks. The conclusion shows that the descending order of OEM risks in Chinese apparel industry is respectively economic risk, market risk, legal risk and social risk. Finally the paper proposes some corresponding suggestions for avoiding the four risks.
