The Characteristics of Consumer Information Processing Strategies on Different Types of Goods consumption
Information processing strategies can reflect effectively decision mechanism of consumers transforming information received into decision result and degree of mental efforts during the buying decision. This study focuses on the characteristics of consumers information processing strategies on convenience good, shopping good and specialty good. Results from verbal protocol technology analysis show that consumers tend to choose different strategies in volume of information used, compensatory characteristics, the effect of contact order, the object of reference when different types of goods are purchased. Finally the implication of these results is discussed.
