A Cost Analysis of British GDP Growth (1716-1756) Period
From 1716 to 1756, Britain was on the eve of dramatic change of economic growth pattern, as GDP, GDP per capita and non-agricultural rate were growing at the same time. From perspectives of population growth rate, economic growth rate, agriculture growth rate and non-agricultural rate on the basis of stable time cost, this article tries to illustrate with historical data that Britain fulfilled functions and values of products and services by means of improving productivity and lowering cost and expenditure. Or, analyzing with the help of evaluation system, we find that the British achieved the same GDP per capita with less and less labor time and capital investment. Amazingly, this was achieved with the steady growth of population.
