Relative-Coordinate Interpolating Method In Three-Dimensional Gridding Process of Weather Radar

The data of weather radar observation is stored in polar-coordinates (elevation, azimuth, radial), and the distribution of radar data is not uniform in space. In order to get uniform grid-data, it needs to be interpolated. The groundwork of interpolation is the ray-trace calculating method. There are many interpolation methods. Some are based on the 4R/3 earth radius model, such as the Linear method, and the Adaptive Barnes Interpolating method;some are based on a modified version, and some are based on the real or simulated N profile of atmosphere (determined by T,P,e). In this paper, the Relative-CoordinateInterpolating Method is proposed, and other methods are shown mathematically in order to make a comparison, and the images following different arithmetic of radar data are also discussed. The relative-coordinate interpolating method is compared to the other arithmetic in this area.
