Visualization and Fine Description to Blast-Caving and Induce Cracks of Roof

In the underground mine, to blast caving part-roof and then induce caving roof, which is a new method to handle the mining empty. But, as a hidden works to presplitting and blast caving roof in the mining empty and fractures, the characteristics are unvisual include the blast effects and crack. It is difficult to fine description fractured cracks of blasting and caving. Using the digital panoramic borehole camera technology, to induce caving roof, the fine description of cracks could be obtained in the hidden roof engineering. To the test stope of the inducation caving roof in the Tongkeng Mine, the blast effects are visually inspected to the deep-hole presplitting and caving blast in the roof, and the crack structure are fine described and counted in the test stope. The inspecting results show that the presplitting slits are formed in the presplitting holes, and the half hole wall is found in the hole bottom, the vast cracks are find in the caving blast hole by caving blast disturbed. According to the frequency of cracks, the surrounding rock stability of roof is classified to stability, secondary stability and instability. The studied results indicated that the mode of handle mining empty is effective to induce caving roof in the hard rock roof, and the digital panoramic borehole camera system can be used to visual inspect the hidden works in the underground mine. The results can provide the base datum to mining and safe evaluate.
